Holy Baptism
There are several festivals each year that are especially designated as baptismal festivals. They are, All Saints’ Sunday, the Easter Vigil, the Feast of Pentecost and the festival of the Baptism of our Lord: the First Sunday after the Epiphany. At each baptism, in addition to pledging our support for those to be baptized, we also renew our own baptismal vows. You can prepare for this by reading through the baptismal liturgy which begins on page 299 of the Prayer Book. Please use this prayer for those to be baptized:
O God, you prepared your disciples for the coming of the Spirit through the teaching of your Son Jesus Christ: I pray for those who will receive blessing of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Baptism at Grace and Holy Trinity Church , that they may be filled with the strength of Christ’s presence and follow in his footsteps all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you are interested in having your child baptized, please contact Valerie Aussanaire in the office for information (359-5628 ext 23 or e-mail: vaussanaire@ghtc.org. )
