The Nursery
Department
Our
Nursery serves infants - 3 year olds
The
Nursery, located on the second floor in the Christian Education wing
(room #2), is available for children infants up to 3 years of age.
Our loving attendant, Mrs. Mary Crumpler, has been an important part
of our Parish for many years.
She is assisted by Courtney
Thompson a VCU student, who has years of experience caring for
children.
Our Nursery is available for members and visitors of the
congregation and any guests from 8:45 am until the conclusion of the
11:30 am service on every Sunday morning.
Parent
Alert Paging System
We have a state of the art parent
paging system, should the need arise for the parent to return to
the nursery. The People Alert Messaging System is designed to
provide confidential, immediate, and silent communication that is
easy-to-use and implement.
If a parent wishes to use this
system, it is available on Sunday mornings.

GODLY
PLAY
Godly Play takes place
during the 11 am service
What
is Godly Play?
Good question…it is not play as we know it - it is a liturgical
curriculum modeled after the Montessori approach to education.
It includes worship, prayer, singing, scripture story time,
play, and a simple snack of Gold Fish and apple juice. The
children then join their family for Holy Communion. The leaders
are trained in the Godly Play method.
Who teaches Godly
Play?
Christian Education/Youth VCU interns will lead the class under
the supervision of Jo Blandford, Director of Christian
Education.
Who can attend Godly Play?
Any child 3 - 7 years of
age, whose parents attend the 10 am service and think their
child would, today, be more comfortable in this
environment than in church.

Youth West Virginia Appalachian Mission Trip 2008 - June 22-28, 2008
Youth West Virginia Appalachian Mission Trip is for 8-12th graders. Each year different groups come together in the spirit of community to provide home repairs to families and elders in Summers and surrounding counties. While here they are given a chance to learn about the area and explore some of the many recreational opportunities available. This program not only
helps people with their home repair needs but also brings people into the area from all over the US, gives groups of people teamwork and leadership skills and teaches the importance of volunteerism.
Our Mission team is Greg and Sarah, Catherine, Ellerson and Caitlin, Ann Aurelia, Katherine, Maddie, Kenan and Jesse, Molly, Carrington and Thompson, Jim and Emma, Catherine Rose, Janie, and Rachael. Please pray for our team.

Youth WorkCamp 2008 - July 9-12, 2008
What is WorkCamp?: Youth 8th-12 grade spend one week during the summer rebuilding homes and lives in Petersburg. Construct porches while you reconstruct hope. Brighten up homes with new walls and paint while you brighten up lives with the love of God. At the end of the week you and your group will have gained work skills plus a greater understanding of people and God’s love. Small crews work together Mon.-Fri. Work tasks may include porch and step
repair, sheet rocking, floor and wall replacement and painting. There are evening programs, free time in the afternoon, games, music, projects, and worship. Workcamp is a retreat and work repair experience. It is great!
Please pray for our Team… Caitlin and Ellerson, Emma, Catherine Rose, Annie, Dan, Helen, Anne Aurelia, Sterling, Amber, Rachael, Jodie, and Courtney
